The Engine Room Pub will be the place to be on Saturday, June 12th – 6pm until 2am!  An outdoor concert with 3 of the Regions top bands will take place with proceeds going to the Ignite the Spirit campaign in support of the Central Nova Scotia Civic Centre Project.  (more…)

Central Nova Scotia will soon have a new place to gather, play and thrive, but not without a lot of hard work and dedication!  Plans for the civic centre are moving along as anticipated, a few bumps in the road, but nothing that has held us back from making this centre a reality for our Region.  Since December, project architects Shore Tilbe Perkins + Will have been working diligently on schematic designs based on space programming priorities outlined by the community which include: (more…)

The Civic Centre Project Steering Committee (PSC) and the Province of Nova Scotia are currently in the process of working out the details of the payment schedule for the Province’s $10 Million commitment to the project.  Recently, the project was notified of the Province’s request to extend their payment period until 2017 although the original agreement stated that full payment would be completed by November, 2012 in line with the facilities anticipated opening.
