As many may recall, the concept of a new Civic Centre in Central Nova Scotia was rooted in our Region’s bid to attract the 2011 Canada Winter Games four years ago in 2007. Although the Region was unsuccessful in its bid, interest in developing a civic centre remained a high priority with the Truro Town Council, Colchester Municipal Council and residents of Central Nova Scotia. Thankfully, because of strong partnerships combined with the commitment and enthusiasm of hundreds of volunteers, the Civic Centre is indeed becoming a reality and one scheduled to open this time next year. One Year Until Civic Centre Doors Open
Friday, September 30th, 2011Car Pool Lot to be Relocated Temporarily
Friday, September 16th, 2011Work on the Central Nova Scotia Civic Centre site has resulted in the need to relocate the car pool lot temporarily. PCL, the project’s construction management team will be relocating the lot to its original location at the east end of the site at the corner of Abenaki Rd. and McClures Mill Rd. The change will take effect on Monday, September 19, 2011.
A permanent car pool lot to be used for the remainder of the Civic Centre construction period will be established in approximately three weeks.
