Thursday, December 8th, 2011The Central Nova Scotia Civic Centre Project’s newly formed Art Acquisition Committee is seeking the talents of a professional artist or artist team for exterior artwork to be located in the concourse area of the new Centre through a Call for Expressions of Interests. Community volunteers, Debbie Elliott, Dee Appleby and Beth Johnston are leading the way on the initiative which seeks to attract the artistic talents of current or former residents of Nova Scotia. Truro to Host 2013 Fred Page Cup
Monday, December 5th, 2011Fredericton, NB – The MHL and Premier Sponsor Kent announced on Monday that the 2013 Fred Page Cup Eastern Canadian Junior A Championship has been awarded to the Truro Bearcats. Truro, who last hosted the event in 2002, will play as host team and will welcome Champions from the MHL, Quebec Junior AAA Hockey League and the Central Junior A Hockey League. The Bearcats will welcome visiting teams with a new facility as the Central Nova Scotia Civic Centre, set to open in the fall of 2012, will be the host venue. (more…)
